Bloomington podiatrist Dr. Melissa J. Lockwood, founder of Heartland Foot and Ankle Associates, will be recognized at this year’s Arthritis Walk for her commitment to patient care and leadership within the medical community. Dr. Lockwood has been practicing in Bloomington for almost five years and comprehensively treats arthritis in her podiatric practice every day. Patients present with foot and ankle problems that are commonly attributed to the development of arthropathies – rheumatoid, gouty, and especially osteoarthritis. Dr. Lockwood personally lives with osteoarthritis in her knee and greatly understands her patient’s needs to stay active and healthy while treating this condition.
The Arthritis Walk is a perfect opportunity to help improve lives and educate about the prevention, control, and treatment options for arthritis. Here at Heartland Foot and Ankle Associates, we have taken the initiative to create our own team for the event and have a goal to raise at least $1000. We are stepping up to help because we want everyone to know that arthritis can be managed and does not have to prevent you from living your life. In our office, the month of April will be dedicated to raising money for the Arthritis Foundation with the help of our patients, friends, family, and whoever else wants to help!
Dr. Lockwood is honored to serve as an ambassador to patients with arthritis and is happy to be representing the McLean County Medical Community as the Arthritis Walk 2013 Honoree. Please feel free to contact Dr. Lockwood at any time at [email protected] or www.HeartlandFootAndAnkle.com.
