As a busy Mom and physician, I don’t have a lot of free time to catch up on TV. I was lucky enough to catch the end of the 2014 MTV Movie Awards a few weeks back. My husband Scott and I enjoy going to the theater so I was interested in the Movie of the Year award, which was awarded to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, not to my surprise.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a science fiction adventure film based on Suzanne Collins' novel and is the second installment in The Hunger Games film series. The film begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.
The Hunger Games is a very daunting competition that some win by hiding out, running away, or playing defense. No matter how you play the games, you need supportive footwear to keep you going. Whether you encounter a jungle or a beach, like in Catching Fire, protective shoe gear is a necessity. One minor foot injury can be disabling, leaving you vulnerable for disaster. Just think how badly Katness limped from the burn on her thigh in the first movie- it really slowed her down.
Moisture wicking socks are another great thing to pack to help keep your feet dry and clean. You don’t want to be bothered by an irritating fungus or bacterial infection while you’re running from acid-like smog and dodging mocking jays.
HFAA has everything you need to give you a ‘step up’ in The Hunger Games, or any competition you’re in. Stop by the office during normal business hours to pick up anti-fungal anti-bacterial socks or be custom fitted for shoes. As always, may the odds be ever in your favor!
