Now that it is the beginning of the New Year, we all have our resolutions in place! Most of us are trying to work out more and get in shape. This is the perfect opportunity to double check your workout shoes are safe, secure, and stable. A common reason for heel pain is improper shoe wear or shoes that have excessive wear and tear.
One simple test is to hold your shoe with both hands and twist. If the show twists easily or has plenty of give in the arch area, you should replace them with a better fitting shoe immediately. While shopping for new shoes, you will also want to apply this same twist test. The less the shoe twists, the more support the shoe offers. With proper support in your shoes, there is a reduced risk for developing heel pain.
