Pediatric Heel Pain - Part 2

Comments (0)

Pediatric Heel PainRecently we discussed one of the most common podiatric problems experienced by children- pediatric heel pain.  We learned custom orthotics are one of the best treatments for heel pain of all ages.  But, until recently, even if a child was prescribed custom orthotics, parents would frequently decline- and understandably so!

As any parent knows, children outgrow clothes and shoes nearly quicker than we can buy them.  Insurance carriers only allow for at most one pair of orthotics per year, leaving mom and dad financially responsible for replacing the custom devices every few months.

Heartland Foot and Ankle Associates has developed a solution to children outgrowing their orthotics- an Orthotic Outgrowth Policy!  The outgrowth policy was created to help the parents of children bear the financial costs of replacing their children’s custom orthotics when they inevitably out grow them.  Just as children outgrow their shoes and clothes, they will outgrow their orthotics as well until they are fully grown, or their bones are fully ossified.

This policy is similar to an auto insurance policy or home owners insurance.  Parents purchase the policy, then they are only responsible for an adjusted amount for their children’s new orthotics and the policy covers the rest.

Or you can click here to schedule an appointment to have your child casted for custom orthotics.  Whatever you need, we’re here to help!
