Laser Therapy For Pain Management

Don’t Let Foot and Ankle Pain Ruin Your Year!

For February only, save 10% off any MODPOD purchase with the purchase of a regenerative pain package (Laser for Pain or Shockwave Therapy)! Don’t delay — call us today!

New at Heartland Foot & Ankle Associates, we are pleased to announce the addition of laser treatments to address both acute and chronic pain issues!

Laser therapy is an FDA-approved tool with a proven track record of success. Adding laser therapy to your treatment protocol can often significantly reduce your recovery time (by 30-50 percent or more!) and even help you “restart” a stalled-out healing process (and avoid surgery).

It can also save you money! Our Multiwave Locked System (MLS) laser is one of the most advanced and effective regenerative therapies available, and Heartland Foot & Ankle Associates is the most affordable MLS provider in the area—about 20% less than you can find elsewhere!

How Laser Therapy Works

Light is simply a form of energy. When you undergo laser therapy, light energy from the laser is able to penetrate deep into layers of injured tissue. Because the light is set at specific wavelengths that are “compatible” with the body, the energy can be used by your body’s own cells to re-activate and accelerate their natural anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and tissue-repairing processes.

Unlike “pain masking” treatments such as cortisone injections, laser therapy not only alleviates pain but also helps your body heal itself more efficiently, leading to much longer-lasting results.

Therapeutic lasers have actually been used in medicine for several decades now, but the MLS laser is a significant improvement in the technology due to its use of two synchronized beams—one primarily for pain relief, the other primarily for healing and anti-inflammation. These two beams complement and reinforce one another, resulting in improved effectiveness while being extremely safe, with no significant side effects ever reported!

Treatment sessions are about 10-15 minutes in length and performed in our office. Drs. Lockwood recommends a series of 6 or 12 sessions over a 2-4 week period depending on the amount of pain and inflammation you are experiencing. The effects of the sessions are cumulative—while you may or may not feel significant improvement after the first session, the post-session results become increasingly more dramatic after each subsequent appointment.

Laser Therapy Can Save You Money

Laser therapy is sometimes (mistakenly) thought of as a “luxury” treatment for deep-pocketed patients looking for an edge. You may be surprised, then, to learn that laser therapy is actually one of the most cost-effective long-term solutions for pain!

And because we know how amazing MLS laser therapy is, we work hard to make sure that it’s accessible and available to as many people as possible who would benefit from it.

Our laser packages are designed to help you save on the up-front costs, and as mentioned above we are able to offer a full program of MLS laser treatments for about 20% less than other providers in the area.

  • 12 Sessions of Laser Pain Therapy (10-15 mins/session) $699
  • Additional Sessions of Laser Pain Therapy (10-15 mins/session) $49 each

It’s also important to remember that it’s not just about the cost of the sessions themselves, but also the opportunity cost (or in this case, savings!).

Quite often, laser therapy is able to take the place of costly physical therapy appointments, eliminate the need for future specialist appointments for continued pain, or even prevent the need for surgery. Laser therapy can also get you back on your feet faster, which might mean you don’t have to take any time off from work (or less time than you would have otherwise).

Quite simply, the return on investment for patients can be enormous—not only in terms of how you feel, but financially speaking as well!
